I, John Ruff, am the CEO and founder of Ruff and Ready Moving who started the company with the goal to spark change in the moving industry through leading by example—providing not only honest service but also genuine care to customers, and treating employees as family. I was first to initiate the implementation of team building events to promote a sense of camaraderie within the team, as well as offer health benefits and regular drug and background screenings to ensure my employees’ well-being. My impactful ideas strengthened my employees’ relationship with me, the company, and one another, and has inspired other local moving companies to strive for the same standards and results.

Passionately leading by example, not only do I focus on taking proper care of my customer and employees, but it has also always been in my heart to give back to the community. My team and I were able to join a lot of charitable programs to volunteer, donate, and provide community service to a wide variety of organizations throughout the state. What is good for the community and environment is invariably a huge part of my decision-making.

In 2021, I dedicated my time to providing mentorship to other new moving companies and enthusiastically shared my expertise with other existing moving companies throughout the United States who have assisted us as we regularly moved across the country. From navigating licensing and federal guidelines to discussing trading business and numerous collaborative ideas, it has always been my firm belief that sharing my knowledge will allow me to build flourishing business relationships with others—and it did!
